Three Antony moments vs Omonia showed why Ten Hag bought him for Manchester United

In his first month at Manchester United, Antony has shown what he can do against the top teams in the Premier League.

A debut goal against Arsenal followed by a thunderbolt consolation against Manchester City outlined why the Brazilian cost £85m. The 22-year-old has started all five of his appearances for United and will surely begin a sixth against Everton on Sunday.

Antony has quickly endeared himself to United fans and against Omonia showed he can put in a shift when the tide is against him. The visitors had turned the game on its head to lead 2-1 by the time he made way for Fred.

Arrowed effort

Later in the half, Antony forced the goalkeeper into a smart save by curling an effort towards the top corner. What made this episode impressive was his ability to work space to fire in an effort on goal from what initially looked like a dead situation.

It was similar to his strike against City on Sunday, except more lofty, his left foot proving to be a deadly weapon when unleashed.
