Erling Haaland makes Premier League odds history ahead of Man City vs Southampton

Erling Haaland has made Premier League history once again with his odds to score against Southampton on Saturday.

The 22-year-old has been on fire in the top flight and in the Champions League since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. So far, Haaland has notched an incredible 19 goals in just 12 competitive appearances for the Blues.

His total includes an astonishing 14 goals in eight Premier League matches, including three hat-tricks against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United. Haaland's form now means he's a favourite to score every time he steps onto the pitch — and the bookmakers are reflecting that.

William Hill are offering odds of just 2/9 on Haaland to find the back of the net against Ralph Hasenhuttl's side when the two teams face each other at the Etihad this weekend. This is the shortest price the bookies have offered for a player to score in a match.

Confirming the decision to price the striker so low this weekend, William Hill spokesman Tony Kelly said: "Erling Haaland continues to amaze everyone with his goalscoring exploits and Southampton’s defence must be fearing the worst on Saturday. We make him just 2/9 to score against the Saints, which is the shortest price we’ve ever had a player to find the net in Premier League history.

"It looks a matter of when not if with regards to breaking Mohamed Salah’s 32-goal record and we make March or April the months we think are most likely for him to break it in."
