Former Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson shares diagnosis in fresh health update after 'emergency' hospital dash

Lucy-Jo Hudson has given fans a fresh update on her ill-health after being rushed into hospital last week. The former Coronation Street star, who played Katy Harris in the ITV soap between 2002 and 2005, shared two pictures from a hospital bed with a drip in her arm on October 16, sparking concern from fans.

The soap actress, 40, revealed she was taken into hospital after needing an emergency blood transfusion, with doctors then running tests to determine the cause. Lucy-Jo, who left her role in Hollyoaks as Donna-Marie Quinn in September after five years, thanked NHS staff for looking after her.

Explaining her health scare in a lengthy caption, she wrote: "Well it’s been a strange few days…. I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet on here… But I was rushed to A&E on Thursday afternoon needing a blood transfusion! I actually ended up needing 2, my HB levels were that dangerously low."

I can’t thank you all enough for looking after me. I’ll be forever grateful."
