Tete transfer timeline set as Celtic put on high alert after 'expected' Premier League offers fail to emerge
In-demand Tete will reportedly make a decision on his future when he returns from his holiday with the winger tipped for a Brendan Rodgers reunion at Celtic.
The Brazilian is rumoured to be a target for the Irishman this summer after he brought the 23-year-old to Leicester City last term - and the forward is now officially a free agent after his representatives agreed the termination of his Shakhtar Donetsk contract. The attacker told the Ukrainian champions he wanted to leave permanently following the Russian invasion and find a club elsewhere in Europe.
Tete has now got his wish and Turkish outlet Sabah claim he will offer his potential suitors a final decision following a break in Bodrum - but Fenerbahce are reportedly leading the race to land him this summer. It is claimed they have "offered a good salary" after the winger didn't receive "the offers he expected from the Premier League."
It means the Scottish champions may have to act fast if they want to hijack the deal and bring Tete to Glasgow's east end this summer. The report notes that Saudi side Al-İttihad have also made a contract offer to the player's representatives.
Two unnamed Serie A sides are also touted with an interest, but reports in Italy suggest champions Napoli were considering an offer. Rodgers admitted previously he had been impressed by Tete's impact in the English top flight: “He’s made a really good impact for us. Some of the games he’s played have been tough. He’s fighting every day.”
