Steve Cook shares message to Nottingham Forest’s supporters after FA Cup win over Huddersfield

Nottingham Forest defender Steve Cook has taken to Twitter to share a message following his side’s latest display in the FA Cup.

The Reds managed to book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition last night by securing a 2-1 victory over Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers entered this particular fixture brimming with confidence after winning four games in a row in the Championship and thus it was hardly a shock when they opened the scoring at the City Ground.

Tom Lees planted a header past Forest goalkeeper Ethan Horvath in the 13th minute of this fixture.

Undeterred by this setback, the Reds levelled proceedings via a strike from Sam Surridge as he slotted home after being teed up by Ryan Yates.

Forest then took the lead via a header from Yates as he converted from James Garner’s free-kick.

Following the break, Horvath produced two saves to deny Danny Ward whilst Garner and Djed Spence both missed opportunities for the hosts.

Steve Cooper’s side managed to hold on in the closing stages of the fixture as they set up a showdown with Liverpool which is set to take place later this month.

After the game, Cook admitted on Twitter that yesterday’s triumph was another special night for the club.

The defender posted: “Another special night under the City Ground lights.

“That noise.”
