Steve Clarke goes bold as Doak and Gauld are unleashed against Poland – Tartan Army’s dream Scotland XI

The disappointment of Euro 2024 still runs deep for the Tartan Army as they dust themselves down for the next chapter.

Scotland are back in action this evening as Steve Clarke and his troops get their Nations League campaign up and running. It is a tournament that has delivered memorable results and night since its inception with the memorable penalty shootout play-off final win over Serbia coming as a cause of our performance in the competition. Such has been the success in recent years we now find ourselves among the elite in League A – a division above rivals England who will compete in the B section this time around.

Poland – arguably the only team to turn up even less than the Scots in Germany – are the visitors to the national stadium tonight and the message running through the Scotland support is clear. They want CHANGE. Clarke has so often stuck to the tried and tested and remained loyal to the guys who have picked up results and qualified for the last two Euros.

But performances at both finals have not been there and the Tartan Army are looking to get back on the thrill ride of belief and excitement. There are a number of new faces in the group for the double-header this week - with Portugal to come on Sunday – and with that in mind Record Sport has picked out a bold new-look Scotland XI for tonight's encounter in Mount Florida.
