Stanley Nsoki emerges as Rangers transfer target as race to land Ibrahim Adel heats up – Ibrox state of play

Rangers are reportedly keen on a late move for Hoffenheim's Stanley Nsoki – with Philippe Clement eyeing up a reunion with the French centre-back.

The Ibrox club are in the market for another defender following Ben Davies' loan switch to Birmingham and the injury picked up by summer signing Robin Propper. And according to L'Equipe, the Light Blues have opened talks with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim over a deal for the 25-year-old, who is under contract in Germany until 2027. Nsoki worked with Clement at Club Brugge and was part of the team that clinched the Belgian league title in the 2021/22 season, with the now Rangers boss moving onto Monaco halfway through the campaign.

Nsoki – who represented France at U21 level – started his career with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, making 16 appearances before moving onto Nice. The centre back swapped Brugge for Hoffenheim two years ago but has struggled to make an impact in his 33 outings.

Elsewhere, interest in Rangers target Ibrahim Adel is heating up. Premier League duo Ipswich and Leicester are also interested in the Pyramids FC winger, who impressed for Egypt at the Summer Olympics in Paris. And reports in his homeland now claim that La Liga side Getafe are also in for the 23-year-old, although the player is said to prefer a move to England.

Although Clement will be looking to bolster his options ahead of the Friday night deadline, the Rangers gaffer knows he also needs to offload players in order to balance the books. One man who could be on his way out is Scott Wright, who has been heavily linked with a loan switch to EFL League One side Birmingham City.
