Sky Sports reporter names "favourites" to win Scottish Premiership after big Celtic U-turn

Celtic have gone from being in “disarray” to favourites for the Scottish Premiership title, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The Hoops lost three of their first six league matches under Ange Postecoglou but have recovered impressively to move into pole position.

Having crashed out of the Champions League and made a woeful start to the domestic season, the Australian made a stuttering start to life in the Celtic Park dugout.

However, since the third of those defeats, which came against Livingston in September, the Glasgow giants have remained unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership, collecting 58 points from a possible 66 available.

As a result, Postecoglou’s side have turned a six point gap into a three point lead, with Celtic taking full advantage of Rangers’ recent slump.

Celtic did drop points for the first time since December at Hibs on Sunday, but Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Motherwell later in the day ensure they maintained their three point lead at the top of the table heading into the final 10 games.

Rangers have only suffered two league defeats all season and only one since August, but Bridge has praised the way that Postecoglou has managed to turn Celtic’s season from a disappointing one into a potentially memorable one.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Celtic were in disarray and Rangers were running away with it early doors and it looked like it would take Celtic 5-10 years to get back to the level they remembered, but Celtic are now favourites to win that league.”
