Sky in instant apology after Celtic minute's silence disrupted by boos and whistles ahead of Aberdeen clash

Sky Sports were forced to apologise live on air after boos were heard during a minute's silence before Celtic's clash with Aberdeen.

The Premiership leaders kicked off against the Dons on Remembrance Day and the Parkhead club followed clubs up and down the country in holding a minute of contemplation ahead of kick-off. Both sets of players linked arms at the centre circle but murmurs of discontent were heard when the tannoy announced plans for the pre-match show of respect.

The referee then blew his whistle to commence a period of silence but jeers and whistles were heard coming from the stands. And it only lasted around 30 seconds before the referee signalled for kick-off. As the players spilled out into formation ahead of kick-off, lead commentator Ian Crocker said on air: "Apologies if you were offended, some people could just not stay quiet."
