Celtic news bulletin as top keeper target goes back on the market and Italian insider predicts Lazio bulldoze job

Celtic are looking for a European strike to save their skin this week - but former Rangers captain Lorenzo Amoruso reckons they'll be bowled over by Lazio in Rome.

The Hoops know they need a victory to stand any chance of playing in Europe after Christmas after taking just one point from their opening four Champions League games - a run which includes that heartbreaking defeat at Parkhead in early October. Anything but a win and even finishing third is out of reach but if they win, and Atletico beat Feyenoord, it rolls over to a final day shootout with the Eredivisie team.

They first need to repeat their 2019 heroics though and win at Stadio Olimpico and former Rangers captain Amoruso reckons Lazio's physical superiority will see them through. He expects Celtic to return to Glasgow disappointed as he said: "The quality is all on Lazio's side and they are rightly favourites to win. I expect a match along the lines of the first leg in Scotland.

"Compared to Lazio, Celtic are a team that has less quality, but they are superior in terms of physical intensity. They run a lot and are very consistent in their league. But there is no point in explaining these possible dangers to Maurizio Sarri because he will have already prepared everything impeccably.

"I believe Lazio are a team who should be at the top of the league, but they lost Sergej Milinkovic-Savic on the pitch and their sporting director Igli Tare off the pitch. Both losses have been felt. But for me, as long as they have Sarri as a manager they will improve. They will eventually be challenging for a Champions League place at the end of the season."
