Sittingbourne name former assistant boss Reece Prestedge as their new manager
Sittingbourne have moved quickly to name their new manager following the departure of Ryan Maxwell.
They’ve appointed Reece Prestedge, who worked as assistant boss under Maxwell last season.
Prestedge returns to Woodstock after playing a key role as Sittingbourne finished runners-up in Isthmian South East and reached the FA Trophy quarter-finals.
He has previous experience as a No.1, leading Margate to Kent Senior Cup glory in 2023, and knows the club well.
Maxwell’s exit was announced on Saturday night, with the Northern Irishman linked with Welling after a highly-successful spell as Brickies boss.
Prestedge said: “I feel honoured to be able to take charge of such a great club in Sittingbourne FC.
“The club are moving in the right direction and the fans are absolutely brilliant and always bringing an atmosphere to games - pushing the team that little bit further.
“I’m excited to be back and am looking forward to getting started Tuesday evening away at Crowborough Athletic and pushing on with the rest of the season.”
