Sheffield Wednesday's supporters have urged owner Dejphon Chansiri to back Darren Moore to the hilt in the transfer market this summer. Attentions have already switched to next season after the Owls fell at the final hurdle in their pursuit of promotion to the Championship.

Defeat to Sunderland over two legs in play-off semi-finals means Wednesday are staring at a second successive year in League One. The Owls secured a place in the end-of-season knockout competition after finishing fourth in the table.

Forty three per cent of supporters blamed the players for the Owls not achieving promotion. Moore assembled a brand new squad, bringing in 18 new faces in the past two transfer windows.

But many fans also pointed the finger at Moore for Wednesday failing to go up. He claimed 33 per cent of the vote. There have been times during Moore's reign where he has come in for his fair share of criticism over his tactics and team selection.

Fifty two per cent of Wednesdayites believe the team will get promoted next season. Thirty four per cent of fans are unsure while 14% think the club will fall short.

As for where Moore must strengthen the squad, 39% of supporters feel the Owls have to bolster the squad in all departments.
