Sheffield Wednesday face further pressure from ​​Atlético Talleres in their pursuit of Josh Windass

Atlético Talleres are maintaining their interest in Sheffield Wednesday attacker Josh Windass as the Owls continue to resist. The Argentinian Primera División side have been eyeing Windass for some time as they look to add attacking flair to their squad, but have already had one bid - reportedly just short of £1 million - rejected.

Talleres manager Pedro Caixinha, who managed Windass during their time at Rangers, has spoken openly about his desire to take the 28-year-old to South America and is hopeful of bringing in his man by the time they finalise their squad for the Copa Libertadores.

Both he and Talleres President Andrés Fassi want the former Wigan man, but Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri and Darren Moore remain stubborn in retaining their man’s services - although Caixinha isn’t giving up yet.

“With Josh (Windass) we maintained contact and presented him as an alternative. He can play from the outside in. Now it is a matter of negotiations, which is not up to me to develop or carry it forward.”

And the 51-year-old added to the speculation when speaking to Argentinian outlet .
