Shaw, Maguire, Yoro, Hojlund - Man United injury news and return dates vs Man City
Manchester United could be without up to six defenders for their Community Shield showdown with neighbours Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm). The traditional curtain raiser is drawing closer after both teams returned from their respective tours to the United States.
The trip Stateside came at a cost for United, though, as they lost Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro to medium-term injuries. Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff also have lingering concerns around Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia - who has been missing for 12 months.
Hojlund, Yoro and Malacia are definitely unavailable beneath the famous arch, but there is hope the doubtful four might feature. Here, we take a closer look at the Carrington treatment table, with predicted return dates for seven United players currently nursing injury problems;

The Manchester Evening News understands Hojlund will be side-lined for around six weeks. The former Atalanta striker, who signed for United last summer, picked up a hamstring injury during a pre-season friendly with Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles overnight (UK time) on Saturday, July 27.
Injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: August 10 vs Man City
What Ten Hag has said: "Harry Maguire missed the game [against Liverpool], [it] was a precaution but is still a question mark for Saturday. So we have training, we have to see whether he is fit enough or not to be available. Victor played, but also he's a question mark."
