Man United star Leny Yoro shares cryptic injury update after Brighton with possible return date

Leny Yoro has hinted at making a Manchester United return sooner rather than later despite being ruled out for up to three months during the pre-season tour of America earlier this summer. The teenage defender was signed for over £50million from Lille in the biggest deal of the window so far for United, but only managed two appearances before suffering a damaging foot injury.

The Frenchman underwent surgery over a fortnight ago and was ruled out for what is expected to be between eight to 12 weeks. Alongside Rasmus Hojlund, who also picked up a knock on the USA trip, United are without two of their star players.

"This is not the start I wanted, but that’s football…" Yoro wrote on Instagram at the time. "The operation went well. Thank you for your many messages of support [black heart emoji]. Now, time for patience and rehabilitation work. See you soon, stronger [first emoji]".

In his absence United have once more turned to Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans whilst Matthijs de Ligt was signed from Bayern Munich. The centre-backs were unable to get Erik ten Hag over the line on Saturday against Brighton though, with Joao Pedro scoring a late winner.

Yoro will be keen to get back onto the pitch in order to help his teammates as quickly as possible but is likely to be out until at least the start of November, with the second international break of the season after the Leicester City trip offering a possible gap before his return.
