Sean Fergus confident Premier Division results will begin to turn in Luncarty's favour

Luncarty midfielder Sean Fergus admits it was an easy decision to return to the club.

And he thinks only fine margins are preventing the Bleachers from picking up more Premier Division points.

The Perthshire side currently sit second bottom of the standings but confidence remains high that a positive run of results can be pieced together.

A home game against fourth-placed Dunbar United is the challenge this Saturday.

“I know the club really well and the people who are involved are brilliant,” Fergus said of his return to Luncarty.

“The first time I was here was amazing and I had an enjoyable time playing for such a good club, so it was an easy decision to come back and play.”

He continued: “The challenge has been tough with so many good teams in the league.

“We’ve been very unlucky in games - we’ve competed really well but just need a bit of luck to get a positive result.

“Going into any game in this league you need to be at your very best. You need everyone performing at a very high level to gain points.

“The teams at the top of the table have a lot of quality. We’re expecting a really tough test against Dunbar. They’re a really good side and where they are in the league shows that.

“But there’s confidence in the camp that we can climb up the table. We’re at home and confident we can get the win.”

Luncarty were edged out 3-1 by Lowland League side Gala Fairydean Rovers in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup last weekend.

“There were a lot of positives to take from last week’s match in the cup,” Fergus explained.

“We all need to stick together and work as hard as possible on the park for each other and I’m confident we will get the right result.”
