Scott McTominay is Man United makeweight amid Celtic transfer chatter in Brighton manoeuvre but Mourinho eyes reunion

Manchester United are reportedly attempting to use Scott McTominay as a makeweight in a deal to land Moises Caicedo - which could end hopes of Celtic fans that the Scotland favourite arrives at Parkhead.

McTominay was largely on the fringes of Erik ten Hag's squad in the English Premier League last season and has been touted with a move away from Old Trafford after an impressive Euro 2024 qualifying campaign in front of The Tartan Army - helping Steve Clarke's side to the top of Group A while netting 5 goals. With Scottish champions Celtic enjoying a cash influx following the sale of Jota to Al-Ittihad some punters had floated the theory that Brendan Rodgers could bring McTominay to the Premiership next season as a marquee signing going into the Champions League group stage.
