Scott Brown in stitches as Celtic hero gets Rangers fishing rod out with devilish three-word derby prediction
Bullish Scott Brown has predicted Celtic will earn a crucial derby day victory over Rangers – declaring the victory for Brendan Rodgers' side is "not a problem".
The Hoops secured the perfect preparation for the clash with Philippe Clement's side that will round off 2024 as they saw off Dundee thanks to Paulo Bernardo's strike and Mikey Johnston's double to move five points clear at the top - with Rangers playing two games fewer than their rivals before facing Ross County at Ibrox on Wednesday. But after the Boxing Day display Brown was in confident mood – despite a potential injury blow being dished out to Celtic just days before they welcome the Light Blues to Celtic Park.
While discussing the potential absence of Cameron Carter-Vickers after he limped off against Dundee on Sky, Brown said on punditry duties: "He reads the game really well. He controls the game from the back but you have Callum McGregor in there as well. They are two huge leaders for the club."
Pressed on a prediction by Eilidh Barbour, he responded with a smir.: "Celtic win. Not a problem. What about you?" Caught on the hop, the Sky host replied: "I'm just there to enjoy it Scott!"
Brown was chief tormentor of the Ibrox side during his days as captain at Parkhead. But it appears he hasn't let his move to Scottish football TV studios around the country deter him from a swipe.
