Willie Borland reveals Rangers bonus that comes with clinching PDC tour card as darts star books Ibrox celebration

Willie Borland plans to celebrate reclaiming his PDC Tour Card by taking in Rangers against Copenhagen on Tuesday.

The Scottish darts stars wrote himself into World Darts Championship folklore in 2021 after becoming the first-ever player to hit a nine-darter that won a game, when defeating Bradley Brooks. An accomplished collection of performance saw him end Qualifying School in Milton Keynes as a professional player once again.

Borland had lost his tour card but won it back after scraping his way through the opening stages of Q School before finishing strong prior to a final stage defeat against Steve Lennon. He is going to Rangers' friendly with Copenhagen on Tuesday but is delighted that darts chiefs have changed the ProTour dates to midweek slots so he can make room for his beloved Light Blues. He told The Sun: "I’m happy that the ProTours are during the week now so I can still go to Rangers games at the weekend.

“I’m back at Ibrox on Tuesday night to see the friendly with Copenhagen. I was last there for the Kilmarnock match. I go to every game I can. I love going on the bus with my mates. It gives me a break from the darts life and I can chill and have fun. It’s been good recently Philippe Clement has come in and done a good job. Hopefully that can continue. It could come down to the Old Firm games now and we’ve got the upper hand being at Ibrox next.

"I only just made it through the first stage of Q-School, I nearly went out. The draws were the hardest I could have got. Thankfully I got a few wins. I thought I had done enough but other games were going against me. But I managed to get to the final stages.
