Scotland fans set to save money at Euro 2024 as travel incentive to keep cash in pocket laid out

Steve Clarke joked earlier this week that five million Scotland fans could follow his squad out to Germany in a bid to get the country in even higher spirits following Euro 2024 qualification.

And his bid to get the entire nation on flights out of Glasgow, Edinburgh and more into central Europe could be helped further by the German government - after travel plans from transport chiefs gave a huge incentive for fans to save extra cash by travelling around Germany for free. It's been a whirlwind six months for Scotland fans ever since the first qualifying win of the campaign against Cyprus back in March; Scott McTominay's double against Spain and THAT late comeback against Norway had fans dreaming of a second consecutive Euros in Tartan Army history.

And Clarke and his men have seen that over the line with two games to spare. It's got an entire country rejoicing and salivating over a summer of madness, given that the previous Euros saw Scotland fans based entirely in the UK, and with restricted fans as a result, it didn't quite have that major tournament feel.

This time, it's different. With the entire tournament being held in Germany, Tartan Army regulars are eagerly anticipating the group stage draw on December 2 - and with tickets being allocated before then, those who have applied will be waiting with baited breath. But applications could further go through the roof - with the German government set to subsidise travel for matchgoers with matchday tickets.

An agreement has been reached with local transport authorities allowing ticket holders to gain FREE regional transport to and from games.

Tickets will be valid from 6am on the match day until 6pm the following day, which will save Tartan Army fans a shedload of cash
