Savannah Marshall: Claressa Shields will have 'a hard time' finding sparring partners like me

Savannah Marshall reckons Claressa Shields will have ‘a hard time’ trying to find sparring partners to replicate her fighting style.

British boxing‘s Queen of the North faces three-weight world champion Shields on September 10 at London’s iconic O2 Arena.

Marshall, 31, is widely regarded as the hardest hitting female in history with a record of 12 wins and zero defeats – with 10 of her victories coming via knockout.

And the softly spoken Hartlepool native – who is nicknamed the ‘Silent Assassin’ due to her shy nature – believes her bitter American rival will be hard-pressed to find anyone like her.

In an exclusive interview with GiveMeSport.com, she said: “I think it will be a lot harder for her to get someone for me.

“She’s going to have a hard time finding someone like me.

“If you think about it, it’s much easier for me to find someone with fast hands and quite good reflexes, that’s how you’d sum her up.”

She added: “She’s got very good upper body reflexes. She’s got fast hands. She punches in bunches.

“Other than that that’s about it to be honest with you.”

Marshall and Shields will fight for the undisputed middleweight world championship in two weeks’ time.

And she insists it doesn’t get much better than that.

She continued: “No, it doesn’t get much bigger, it doesn’t get much bigger.

“I mean, look at my first fight with BOXXER. They let me headline Newcastle. I would never have got that elsewhere.”

“The best move I ever made in my career was going to BOXXER and Sky Sports because look at the position I’m in now. I would never have got this elsewhere.
