Claressa Shields reacts to postponement of Savannah Marshall undisputed clash
Claressa Shields has responded to the postponement of her blockbuster clash against Savannah Marshall.
Shields and Marshall were set to headline an all-female boxing card at the O2 Arena tomorrow evening, but this has now been postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
A provisional date of October 15th has been set for the rescheduled event.
“This is an unprecedented moment in our history and our sincere thoughts are primarily with the Royal Family and the nation at this time,” said BOXXER chief executive Ben Shalom.
“Out of respect, the British Boxing Board of Control has decided to postpone Saturday’s show.
“A provisional date for Saturday, 15th October at The O2 is being worked on by all parties to stage this unique and historical night of celebration for women’s sport at a more appropriate time.”

Shields, who travelled to London from the United States to take on Marshall, was considerate in her response to the postponement.
“Yeah, I understand,” the 27-year-old posted on Twitter.
The American star had previously posted a tribute to the Queen, writing: “My condolences to the people of the UK
