Ryan Thomas reveals hidden 'discomfort' ahead of Dancing on Ice final as he praises co-star

Ryan Thomas has been hiding a hidden 'discomfort' as he opens up about the 'toll' Dancing on Ice has taken on his body as the final nears. This weekend, the actor will be one of four celebrities who will compete in the final of the ITV skating competition's 2024 series.

Ryan, 39, made it to the final of the show with professional skating partner Amani Fancy after flying to their highest score of the series during the semi-final. he former Coronation Street star's fun aerobatic dance in the air to Robbie Williams’ Ain’t That A Kick In The Head? earned him 38 points.

The public vote then saw Ryan through to the final with Amani alongside fellow couples Adele Roberts and Mark Hanretty, Greg Rutherford and Vanessa James, and Miles Nazaire and Vanessa Bauer.

But Ryan, who is famed for having played Jason Grimshaw in ITV's Corrie, has revealed he has an inflation of his shoulder, called a bursa, which has been causing him “some discomfort” recently. He said: "It was round the back, and now it’s come around the front of the shoulder and it is constant, it’s really starting to get quite painful.

"Your adrenaline seems to get you through it, and then it starts to wear off and then you feel it again, and you wake up with it and you just forget about it and then… the physio here is unbelievable and the team are unbelievable.

"So I’m in good hands, but it’s just getting me through that final now and rehearsals and we have to run things over and over again, there’s a lot of, technical stuff, lifts, still in there and there’s no avoiding (it) now
