Ryan Kent faces shock Fenerbahce end game as escalating Rangers return rumour may not be as it seems

Unwanted Ryan Kent will reportedly be allowed to exit Fenerbahce on loan in January only six months after joining – according to a report in Turkey.

The winger has come in for stinging criticism in recent weeks with his own manager Ismail Kartal stated to have gone to his board to inform his superiors the former Rangers star has flattered to deceive in Istanbul. The 27-year-old has scored once and created two goals in 14 games but has become an increasingly peripheral figure in recent weeks.

And now Yagiz Sabuncouglu has claimed Fenerbahce are willing to allow Kent to exit in loan in January and he believes one team in Scotland and another from England are keen. It's highly unlikely the report is intimating Celtic would be in on the former Rangers star who made his Ibrox loan from Liverpool permanent in a £7million deal back in 2019. But a return to Rangers – six months after leaving as a free agent – wouldn't be without its challenges with red-hot Abdallah Sima entrenched as the starter on the left side of attack.

Kent was linked with a clutch of English teams over the summer including Premier League strugglers Burnley. And it appears he will soon have a choice to make as Kartal's negative report appears to have led to executive action from the Fenerbahce board.

The winger was a fan favourite at Ibrox but concerns over his goal contributions dogged his final two years in Glasgow as he only managed six goals in 90 appearances and he departed alongside fellow stalwarts Alfredo Morelos, Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor.
