Ruben Amorim immediately responds to Man United issue which 'made Cristiano Ronaldo leave'
Ruben Amorim, the former Sporting Lisbon manager, can't hide his enthusiasm over becoming the new Manchester United boss, even finding delight in Manchester's weather.
He has been announced as the successor to Erik ten Hag and has recently arrived in the city. While he awaits his work permit which prevents him from officially starting the role, he can still engage in meetings with club executives and staff members.
A video released by United shows Amorim stepping out of a car into the Manchester sun, commenting: "You see the weather?" This positive reaction to the weather marks a difference from notable United player Cristiano Ronaldo's experience, who left for Real Madrid partly due to Manchester's greyer skies according to former teammate Gary Neville.

Reflecting on Ronaldo's departure, Neville said: "I think because he did the interview after the 2008 final where he sort of alluded to the fact that he was going, it was almost like you had an advanced warning. So you were almost ready-prepared for it, you knew he was leaving the year after.
"It was coming; it was obvious that one day he would want to go and experience [Real] Madrid and LaLiga. I didn't speak to Cristiano for instance about him staying at the club for longer.
"The weather was a big problem for Cristiano. I think he also wanted to obviously live in Spain and do La Liga.
"But the weather was a big problem for him and I felt like he'd almost travelled his path, he'd done the journey." Eduardo Rocha, a former director at one of Amorim's previous clubs, has hinted that the new United manager will need to adjust to the Manchester climate.
