I rejected a move to Manchester United - it would not have made me happy
FC Lorient goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo has claimed he rejected interest from Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
Mvogo, who is also a Swiss international, was linked with a flurry of clubs during the summer after Lorient were relegated from the top flight of French football. The shot-stopper was an ever-present figure for the now-Ligue 2 side, making 34 appearances.
He wanted to leave following their relegation, determined to continue proving himself at the highest level possible. He was linked with Celtic and German side Augsburg, as well as being very close to joining Strasbourg towards the end of the window, only for the French outfit to swoop for Chelsea goalkeeper Djorde Petrovic instead.

Mvogo, who started Switzerland's 3-2 defeat to Spain in the UEFA Nations League on Monday night, has now revealed he turned down the chance to move to Old Trafford, claiming he was not prepared to join the club to sit on the bench.
Speaking to Swiss newspaper Blick, Mvogo said: "Correct [top clubs wanted me as a No.2], Manchester United, for example. But that wasn't an option for me. I'm not happy if I can't be on the pitch. I want to enjoy my time on the pitch right now, together with fans and teammates. I want to play for titles and ideally win them too."
Still firmly No.1 at Lorient, Mvogo has started each of their opening 13 league matches this season, with the side currently second in the Ligue 2 table, one point behind leaders Paris FC.
"Getting promoted again with Lorient next spring is definitely my goal," he added. "We will see
