'Adaptable' - Gary Neville names four Manchester United players who will be key for Ruben Amorim

Gary Neville believes Luke Shaw is a "certainty" to become a key figure under Ruben Amorim, insisting those who are "adaptable" will blossom under the new Manchester United head coach.

The England international made his long-awaited comeback from injury in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town at Portman Road, stepping off the bench 11 minutes into the second half.

It marked his first appearance of any kind since England's 2-1 defeat to Spain in the European Championship final in July and his first in United colours since February.

He slotted into the left-sided centre-back berth after replacing Jonny Evans. United were light on centre-back options at Portman Road, missing Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire.

Amorim, as expected, deployed a 3-4-3 formation, meaning he will need to be able to rely on his centre-backs to fill those three spaces in defence. And for Neville, he believes Shaw and Yoro could be among the biggest winners of his appointment, likewise midfield duo Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo, neither of whom started on Sunday.

"Luke Shaw, if he can keep fit [will be a winner]," said Neville, speaking to Sky Sports. "As I think that left centre-back needs to eventually be able to play out as a left-back, so he is well suited to do both. The same must be said of the right centre-back.

"We saw [Noussair] Mazraoui do it against Ipswich. I think Ugarte will be a winner, just because I think in midfield, not just because he's played for him before.
