Roy Keane predicts great future for ‘positive’ Manchester United star Anthony Elanga

Roy Keane has praised Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga, hailing his involvement in his club's opener against Brentford on Monday evening.

The Old Trafford hero has not held back in his criticism of his former side this season amid a dismal campaign. Fans have also pulled no punches towards their team.

But most agree that the one positive to come out of United this season has been Elanga. The youngster has enjoyed a breakthrough term and is considered one of the first names of Ralf Rangnick’s team sheet.

He was among the action again against Brentford on Monday night, superbly assisting Bruno Fernandes for his 50th United goal. His efforts were praised by Keane at half-time and he forecasted a bright career for the 20-year-old.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “Just the movement from Elanga, he’s very positive. Very good movement, but poor defending.

“That’s what you want from young players. You got to mix your game up, when to go short, when to spin. It’s a good ball from Dalot.

“Right into the area and Fernandes, very simple but very effective. Lovely ball (from Elanga).” He added: “He’s definitely got a bright future. Everything he does, on the pitch, is always positive.”
