Roy Keane has no sympathy for relegated Burnley after Sean Dyche decision

Roy Keane had no sympathy for Burnley following their relagtion to the Championship. Mike Jackson's side lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle United, while Leeds United beat Brentford by the same score, meaning Burnley dropped into the bottom three on the final day of the Premier League season.

There were emotional season at Turf Moor on the final whistle, but former Manchester United midfielder Keane had no words of comfort. Instead, he focused on the decision to sack Sean Dyche as manager earlier this year as the key point.

"Who said it was a good decision to get rid of Sean Dyche?" said Keane on Sky Sports following the final-day drama. "Crazy. Sean Dyche would have done a good job if given the opportunity until the end of the season.

"He’s been here and done it, him and his staff. When he left, we said, oh there’s been a reaction, a reset. Rubbish. They’ve paid a heavy price for it. Should have stuck with Sean Dyche. Proven manager, great quality, done a brilliant job. No sympathy for Burnley."

Newcastle led 2-0 at Turf Moor thanks to two goals from Callum Wilson, the first from the penalty spot after a handball, and the second following an excellent run from Allan Saint-Maximin.

The hosts pulled one back through Max Cornet but despite some late pressure, couldn't final an equaliser. A late Jack Harrison goal for Leeds against nine-men Brentford made sure of Burnley's relegation.
