Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville agree on biggest Manchester United takeover issue

Manchester United's takeover situation has become the drawn out affair which many feared would happen.

However, one thing which they are seemingly in agreement about is keeping their cards close to their chests. In New Jersey during the US pre-season tour, Avram Glazer failed to respond to questions from reporters about the takeover latest.

And former United players Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville are in agreement on the wall of silence being the biggest issue. The latter addressed the lack of clarity in June in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live: "Embarrassing… But it’s what they have done, drag everything out, it's always in their best interests and not in the interests of the football club.

"The idea of Manchester United Football Club with its millions of fans around the world not being updated by owners on the ownership sale is quite frankly not good enough, but fitting with how they have operated for 20 years now."
