Richard Jensen reveals Aberdeen FC transfer chat with Glen Kamara over Pittodrie move as he insists Dons will come good

Richard Jensen knows Aberdeen’s new-look side will come good and can show it by going for glory in the Europa Conference League.

Barry Robson has performed major surgery on his Dons, signing 13 players and he is still waiting for them all to settle and for his team to kick into gear. The Dons have taken just two points from their opening four league games and also lost in the Europa League play-off to BK Hacken, with their only win coming in the Viaplay Cup against Stirling Albion.

The challenge gets even tougher as they were drawn against recent Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt, PAOK and HJK in their Conference League group. Aberdeen’s early season form has seen them written off but Jensen knows there is quality here and reckons they can upset the odds and progress through Group G. The Finn, who will be heading home against HJK, said: “It is going to be a tough group. There are definitely chances for us. I can’t wait to get the group started. I am also looking forward to HJK, that will be interesting, along with Eintracht and PAOK, who are two very good teams. It is going to be a tough group but we can fight our way through.”

There was a chorus of boos as Aberdeen lost their last home game to Hibs. Manager Robson pleaded for patience and Jensen has backed him.

He has brought in Nicky Devlin, Graeme Shinnie, Jensen, Jamie McGrath, James McGarry, Rhys Williams, Ester Sokler, Pape Habib Gueye, Or Dadia, Slobodan Rubezic, Ross Doohan, Leighton Clarkson and Stefan Gartenmann - as the Dons have invested some of the millions they will collect from their European adventure.

The 27-year-old stated: “I think he is completely right. He is right. You can also see the good things that are happening on the pitch.
