'Rare' chance to live on Manchester street named one of UK’s top hidden gems
A rare opportunity has come up to live on an iconic Manchester street that has been named one of the UK's top hidden gems. Anita Street, which is made up of two distinctive rows of pretty Victorian terraces, came joint first in a list of streets in the country which “you won’t want to miss”.
Found in the heart of Ancoats, the historic estate has previously been dubbed Manchester's most 'Instagrammable' street, and is one of the most photographed in the region.
Anita Street was named by researchers from Leeds Locksmiths who analysed Instagram hashtags to find the UK’s hidden gem streets, with locations with the lowest number of hashtags considered 'hidden gems'. Four streets in the UK ranked joint first with an average Instagram hashtag count of 500.

Tucked away behind Blossom Street and Oldham Road, the picturesque homes weren't originally built to look pretty, but were in fact council houses constructed to help tackle Manchester’s 19th century housing crisis.
Out of 36 properties on the street, 18 are still owned and managed by the council today. The exterior of the houses are still in their original condition, creating the feeling of stepping back in time.
One of these homes, a two-bed maisonette, has now been listed for sale on Zoopla, accepting offers over £310,000. Described as a 'rare find', the property spans around 635 square foot and is made up of a living area, a kitchen, two bedrooms and one bathroom.
Listed as the 'perfect first time buyer or buy to let opportunity', estate agent Goodwin Fish & Co state: "Manchester's greatest hidden gem - a pristine row of Victorian terraced houses in the city's most popular
