Rangers transfer news bulletin as Reuell Walters latest revealed and recruitment priorities
Rangers are interested in former Arsenal star Reuell Walters.
The 19-year-old defender on Monday left the Gunners on freedom of contract. Walters would be available cross-border for around £350,000 in compensation. He has admirers on the Ibrox coaching staff but they are looking to prioritise funds for other positions in Philippe Clement’s squad.
Rangers will keep a watching brief on Walters but are unlikely to move unless they move on a right-back. Walters has a string of interest in both the English Premier League, Championship and in Europe. The Ibrox recruitment chief Nils Koppen has already brought in Brazilian left-back Jefte and is working on other central defensive options, after they pulled out of a move for Levski Sofia defender Jose Cordoba. They also signed Oscar Cortes on another season-long loan from Lens with an obligation to buy next summer. Rangers are also in talks with out-of-contract Motherwell keeper Liam Kelly.
