Rangers fans’ Queen tribute revealed as monarch to be remembered with Ibrox display

Rangers are have decorated the Broomloan Stand with a Union Jack display in tribute of Queen Elizabeth, who sadly passed away last Thursday, ahead of their Champions League clash with Napoli on Wednesday night.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's men face the Serie A giants off the back of consecutive 4-0 defeats and will be looking to register their first points of the group. It is set to be a special atmosphere around Ibrox with the Light Blues support expected to defy UEFA advice and sing a rendition of the British national anthem, 'God Save the King' prior to kick off.

There are not going to be any away fans inside the stadium with the game pushed back 24 hours from its original date due to a lack of police resources. However both sides will wear black armbands in a sign of respect to the monarch's death. Rangers have had a picture of Her Majesty The Queen hanging on their dressing room wall since Graeme Souness was in charge during the late 1980s and fans are desperate to do all they can to honour their beloved monarch along with her son and successor, King Charles III.

Ahead of the display the Union Bears tweeted: "Union Bears have prepared a tifo in the Broomloan Stand ahead of tonight's match with Napoli. We ask that everyone holds up the material on their seat as the players enter the pitch and during the national anthem."
