Rangers fans unveil spectacular tifo in tribute to the Queen and belt out national anthem despite UEFA ban

Rangers fans paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth ahead of their Champions League clash with Napoli with a huge Union Jack tifo and the silhouette of the queen covering the Broomloan Stand.

Gio van Bronckhorst 's men continue their group stage campaign against the Serie A league leaders, with the match being pushed back 24 hours following concerns over policing the event following the death of the monarch after their fixture against Aberdeen on Saturday was also called off. It was the first time the Rangers fans have had their chance to pay their respects to Her Majesty, The Queen since the sad passing was announced by Buckingham Palace last Thursday.

Ahead of the match the Champions League anthem did not ring out with all British home sides not playing the anthem during the period of national mourning, with fans singing 'Rule Britannia' as the team emerged from the tunnel before the massive tifo was unveiled.

UEFA had also offered guidance that clubs should not sing the national anthem before kick-off. Rangers opted to play 'God Save the King' in tribute to the late monarch and King Charles III as fans sang along. The players took part in a minute's silence before playing the anthem for fans to sing along with ahead of kick-off in the Group A clash. .
