Rangers face backroom exodus as Brendan Rodgers seals 'coup' that makes summer rebuild even bigger

Rangers' summer rebuild just got bigger with physiotherapist Adam Roberts joining rugby side Bristol Bears.

The news comes as Leicester are close to appointing club doctor Mark Waller in a "major coup" for Brendan Rodgers ' team.

And it's set to kick off a trio of exits as The Telegraph report chief scout Andy Scoulding is heading for Tottenham.

It's been all change at Ibrox over the last year or so with Steven Gerrard taking his coaching team to Aston Villa back in November.

Gio van Bronckhorst brought his own people with Roy Makaay, Yori Bosschaart and Arno Phillps making up the new Rangers dugout team.

But more major appointments will be needed soon with Roberts joining Bristol Bears as their new Head of Medical Services.

This the first confirmed exit but John Percy reports doctor Waller, who has previously worked with Liverpool and Villa, is heading to Leicester.

And it's widely expected that Spurs will announce Scoulding later in the summer as the highly-rated scout heads to the Premier League.

On joining the Bristol rugby team, Roberts said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Bristol Bears organisation as Head of Medical Services. The opportunity to be part of the Bears is hugely exciting and I’m looking forward to getting started.

“I’m eager to get to work at the world-class High-Performance Centre alongside the quality players and staff here. The ambition of the club is there for all to see and I’m keen to contribute to that.”
