Rangers Champions League draw LIVE as Philippe Clement set to learn Euro fate

Rangers have had a taste of the strength of Euro giants during pre-season after defeats to Ajax and Manchester United.

But it's about to get real for Philippe Clement and his Light Blues side as they go into the hat for what could be the their first of two Champions League qualifying hurdles.

Twelve months ago the Ibrox side landed Swiss side Servette in the third qualifying round before losing to PSV Eindhoven as they missed out on the group stage under Michael Beale.

Now they will aim to to go one better than last year but it won't be easy. Ajax and Man Utd showed their class against Gers during friendly games – and neither of those sides are even in the Champions League this season as they settle for Europa League spots.

That just underlines the enormity of what Rangers are trying to achieve as they look to bank some much-needed millions by joining the cream of the Continent in UEFA's revamped premier competition.
