Ramsgate and Brentwood Town have a gentleman’s agreement allowing on-loan goalkeeper Aiden Prall to face his parent club
Ramsgate have given out-on-loan goalkeeper Aiden Prall permission to play against them this weekend.
Prall, who joined the Rams from Sheppey last summer, is set to line up for Isthmian Premier high-fliers Brentwood at Southwood on Saturday (3pm).
He moved to the Essex club last month after losing his place to on-loan Bromley youngster Dillon Addai.
Prall’s deal with the Blues, who sit third in the league, has since been extended until the end of the season and he’s free to face his parent club.
“We’ve got a gentleman’s agreement that he can play,” said Ramsgate manager Lee Martin.
“It makes no difference to us. No doubt he’ll have an absolute worldie but we’re not going to stop the boy from playing.
“They needed a goalkeeper, they acted, so that was that.
“We needed a quick deal to clear the decks at that time.
“There were too many uncertainties around Aiden. A lot of clubs in for him were Step 4 and he was adamant he wanted Step 3, which was fair, and who are we stand in the way of that?
“We agreed it was best for all parties to get it done quickly and amicably and then we can move on.
“Aiden’s a good goalkeeper. He probably didn’t fit what we needed at the time. We conceded too many from set-plays and ultimately you make those decisions.
“Sometimes you get them right and sometimes you don’t.
“Unfortunately, he was part of the collateral and we wish him well.”
Alfie Paxman scored a brilliant injury-time free-kick as 10-man Ramsgate drew 1-1 at Cray Wanderers last Saturday.
It hadn’t been the stand-in skipper’s day from set-pieces before his 30-yard strike rescued a point after defender Donvive Jones was sent off.
The result ended Rams’ five-match winning streak but they remain unbeaten in 2026.
