Police temporarily seal off city centre street following crash leading to bus diversion

A city centre street was temporarily closed down today after a crash, police have confirmed.

Every Street, in Ancoats, was closed at around 4pm on Thursday (August 10). It re-opened a short time later, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.

The incident led to two bus services being diverted. Stagecoach posted on social media: “Routes 230/231. Diversion in both directions via Pollard Street.

“This is due to a Police incident on Every Street. Sorry if this is affecting your journey with us today.”

It has since been confirmed by GMP that the crash was ‘not serious’, and the cordon was lifted at around 4:15pm. “We don’t think it’s serious,” the spokesperson for the force said.

“The injuries are not life threatening or life changing. It’s just a road traffic collision and they have already closed the scene, it will be lifted soon.”

Every Street connects Merrill Street, which becomes Ashton New Road, to Great Ancoats Street just before Pin Mill Brow.
