Police issue plea to find 'dangerous' man after shots fired at person sat in parked car

A 'dangerous' fugitive is wanted by police in connection with a shooting and suspected drugs and guns supply. Ben David Elliott, 34, from Wythenshawe, is suspected of being involved in a firearm incident on September 15, 2021, Greater Manchester Police said.

The force said that around 9.15pm, four rounds were fired at someone in a parked car on Old Moat Lane in Withington. Another man has been convicted and sentenced to 10 years in relation to the incident.

Talleko Lemonius was charged with possession of prohibited weapon; possession of firearm with intent to endanger life; possession of ammunition without a certificate; and aggravated vehicle taking. The 29-year-old, of Shady Lane, Wythenshawe, was convicted and sentenced in 2023.

Police said Elliott is believed to have fled the country in the wake of the incident. He is still believed to be abroad. Elliott is also wanted in relation to an investigation into drugs and guns supply.

GMP said he is believed to be the user of the EncroChat handle 'PLAINSAILING', which is is behind the importation and supply of cocaine and heroin; the cultivation of cannabis; and the sale of firearms.

Cops are still urging anyone with information to immediately come forward, three-and-a-half years after the shooting. Detective Constable Ryan O'Hanlon, is leading the hunt. "We are appealing for the public's help to locate Ben Elliott and bring him back to face our questions," he said today (January 28).

"The offences he is wanted for are some of the most serious, and we believe he is a dangerous individual who could pose a significant risk to the public.
