Police issue update after man, 33, found dead on street
Police have issued an update after a 33-year-old man was found dead in Stockport over the weekend. Officers were called out to Branfield Avenue, in Heald Green, at around 1.20pm on Sunday (February 16).
Greater Manchester Police says officers had been called out to concerns for a person's welfare. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency services.
Police launched an investigation into the circumstances of the man's death. In an update issued this morning (Monday), GMP confirmed the death is being treated as non-suspicious.
A file will be prepared for the coroner. GMP confirmed the man's family were aware of the tragedy on Sunday, and were being supported by specialist officers.
A cordon was in place with several officers working at the scene. A force spokesperson said on Sunday: "We were called at around 1.20pm today (February 16, 2025) to reports of the concern for the welfare of a man on Branfield Avenue in Cheadle.
