Police guard house after emergency services swarm road near Trafford Centre

Emergency services swarmed a busy main road near the Trafford Centre on Thursday afternoon (August 15) after a suspected cannabis farm sparked a house blaze.

Police, paramedics and fire crews raced to the scene of the incident on Barton Road, near the Barton Swing Bridge, shortly before 4pm to reports of a house fire. Nearby Peel Green Road was also taped off.

There was 'traffic mayhem' in the area during rush hour, as emergency services vehicles lined the busy road and fire crews attempted to put out the flames.

On Thursday evening, a number of officers could be seen stationed outside the property, which was taped off. A charred door also appeared to have been removed. An investigation has now been launched.
