Philippe Clement will lead Rangers to dethrone Celtic declares ally as he offers inside track on 'huge' boss

Sander Berge says Rangers boss Philippe Clement is the man to bring the Premiership title back to Ibrox.

The £12 million Burnley midfielder played under the Belgian at Genk where they became champions in 2019. The Norwegian rates Clement as a top class gaffer who is certain to lead Gers to success. When asked if he could dethrone Old Firm rivals Celtic and win the league at Ibrox, Premier League star Berge said: “Yes, for sure. He’s huge.

“It’s a big club for him to take over but he has a lot of experience from his time at Club Brugge and Genk. He knows what it’s all about. Philippe’s fighting spirit and the passion he wants to see in every game - I think it suits British football. Especially the Scottish league and a team that is known for winning a lot. He was massive for us at Genk and we won the league with him.

“He played a huge part in my career. He’s very good with players and I think he will do really well for Rangers. The biggest thing for us in 2019 was that he managed to get the training level so high - that when we went into games they felt easier than normal.

“That’s because the demands he put on us were so high. Fitness is also massive for him. You have to be in shape all the time to play for his high-pressing team.

"He’s an exceptional coach with a huge belief in hard work and determination. That will give the Rangers players a huge boost, I’m sure.”
