Philippe Clement shown Rangers area that's 'massively overloaded' with one star forgotten amid transfer demand

Philippe Clement faces a Rangers squad that is "massively overloaded" in a key area of the pitch, with one star being almost forgotten about.

The Belgian will want to stamp his own look on the bloated Ibrox cohort come the January transfer window, and he'll be aided by a former ally in new director of football recruitment Nils Koppen who arrives with a strong pedigree from PSV. Clement will no doubt work to right a few wrongs from predecessor Michael Beale's varied summer signings, but former Rangers star Craig Moore says midfielder Kieran Dowell is one of the names that could be left by the wayside after his long stint out injured.

Clement has chopped and changed his eleven since arriving and admitted Dowell is working hard to recover, but his only featured for five minutes against Dundee under the Belgian in a first outing since August. And Moore admits he had forgotten about the 26-year-old somewhat, but that strengthen in his position can't be the priority with that area already bulging.

He told Go Radio: "You know what, and this is terrible, forgot all about him (Dowell). That's a terrible thing to say but it just goes to show you need a little bit of a luck especially when you move to a new club, to hit the ground running and show them what you can do. When you pick up injuries and you're not seen for a while, it's a brutal, brutal industry. You can be forgotten very quickly.

"He has an opportunity to get back in to the team but as Clement says he comes in to an area, when we talk about recruitment, is massively overloaded. There's a lot of people in those positions.
