Philippe Clement shares Rangers behind the scenes look at first Ibrox day as Hibs planning starts immediately
New Rangers boss Philippe Clement has offered a behind the scenes look at his first day on the job.
The Belgian is just days into a three-and-a-half year contract at Ibrox having been chosen to replace the sacked Michael Beale. He was at Auchenhowie bright and early on Monday morning to meet his new squad, then was at Ibrox the following day for his official unveiling in the stadium's famous Blue Room.
Clement says he's already well up to speed, having watched "every" game the Light Blues have played this season. He'll take charge of his first at home to Hibs on Saturday. Gers' international stars have now returned to training ahead of the resumption of cinch action so he'll have finally met all his new men on the training ground today. Clement is also a keen user of social media and shared some unseen footage of his Rangers arrival with fans keen to glean all they can about the new man in charge.
The video, shared on his personal instagram, shows Clement arriving with assistant Stephan van der Heyden before holding a meeting with his coaching staff. Plans will be being laid out for the clash against the capital club and how best to bring about a winning start in front of an expectant crowd.
Then came the obligatory tour of the trophy room. Silverware is expected and Clement will have a chance to reach his first final next month when they take on Hearts in the semi-final of the Viaplay Cup.
Clement captioned the video: “First moments as the new Rangers head coach. I’m very grateful for the warm welcome and I’m ready to give it my all for this beautiful club. See you in the stadium.”
