Rangers squad revealed as Philippe Clement turns puzzle solver and Danilo states his starting case
It's a case of who's in rather than who's out for Rangers tonight as Philippe Clement contends with an injury crisis the likes of which he's never seen.
The Belgian takes his side to Dundee as he looks for a third league win on the spin since taking over and after that late, late comeback against Hearts at the weekend, he's already chiselled a few points off Celtic's advantage at the top. The only way to keep eating away at it is to win again but that won't be easy against a Dens Park side made of stern stuff - even if they've only won twice in the Premiership this season.
Tom Lawrence is back in training but won't be ready to start, while the boss confirmed Danilo isn't yet ready to play 90 minutes. Could he start and be subbed off or will he be called on from the bench again? Borna Barisic could be back but after missing out on the squad altogether at the weekend, it may just be Ridvan Yilmaz who gets the nod.
Nicolas Raskin and John Souttar are both out in a fresh double blow that adds to the mounting injury pileup and Ryan Jack and Jose Cifuentes will be vying to replace the former. Clement said: "Raskin is not in the squad (for Dundee).
"He was doing good things so it is a pity. I hope it is short term but it's not guaranteed. We will see in the next couple of days. Tom Lawrence is back training, but not yet fit enough to be in the squad. Danilo is ready to play but not for 90 minutes.
“It is the biggest puzzle I ever saw with all the injuries and players out. I need to say one thing more, John Souttar will also not be available with a muscle problem. Not a big one but still not available for the game."
