Paddy McGuinness hesitant as he's quizzed on Top Gear and gives Freddie Flintoff update after crash

Paddy McGuinness appeared hesitant as he was quizzed on Top Gear and his former co-host Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff. The comedian and TV star appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday (February 26) to chat about his upcoming tour.

In December, Paddy announced a major UK stand-up tour - his first since 2016. His long-awaited return to comedy will see him perform 40 dates across the UK in 2024 and 2025. The tour will start in Blackburn, and will include nights at The Lowry in Salford as well as London's prestigious Palladium.

But while chatting about his return to stand-up with Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, the GMB hosts couldn't help but ask Paddy about the demise of Top Gear which is being rested for the "foreseeable future" after Freddie was involved in a horrific car crash while filming in December 2022.

Freddie suffered facial injuries and broken ribs when he was involved in a crash at the Top Gear test track in Dunsfold Aerdrome in Surrey. While on GMB, Paddy, 50, admitted that he and Freddie haven’t talked in a while, but added that the former cricketer is "getting on with it’"

When asked how Freddie, 46, is doing, the Bolton-born star answered: "He’s all right. I’ve not spoken to him for a while, but, you know, he is getting on with it. He’s a very resilient character, is Fred. So I’ve no doubt he’ll be right as rain."

He added that ‘there’s all stuff still going on with Top Gear’, after the BBC announced in November that the series was being ‘rested’ following Freddie’s accident. "At some point, it will all get sorted out,"
