Pope Francis cancels engagements due to 'mild flu symptoms'

Pope Francis has called off his schedule for Monday morning because of ongoing mild flu symptoms, said the Vatican press office.

They quickly added that the Pope's illness doesn't include a fever. The statement indicates that this was just a careful step taken.

Only on Sunday, the Pope wasn't too ill to deliver his weekly Angelus prayer from a Vatican window that looks out onto St Peter's Square. This comes after he pulled out of a public meeting due to having a bit of a flu, Wales Online reports.

The Vatican's timetable shows the Pope has no public meetings set for Monday morning. However, it does not rule out any private duties he might have had planned.
