“Not everybody is convinced” - Journalist drops behind-scenes Newcastle claim on £50m target

Newcastle are facing a transfer dilemma with many unconvinced by the prospect of breaking the bank to sign Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad this summer, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Eddie Howe is on the hunt for a new striker this summer and the Sweden international has emerged as a target but the potential cost is causing a headache at St. James’s Park.

The Magpies are currently pondering their next move regarding Isak with Sociedad currently valuing the player at £50 million, although a bid is yet to be made. With Dwight Gayle joining Stoke City, the club are set to be one striker short for next season too.

While Isak remains a prominent target, he is far from the only striker on the radar of those in charge of Newcastle.

Chelsea forward Armando Broja is admired in the North East and would be open to taking him on loan for the 2022-23 season, although West Ham are posing strong competition for the Albanian’s signature.
