Nigella Lawson leaves viewers in hysterics over 'nut bashing bag' on BBC Christmas show

Nigella Lawson had viewers in stitches with a cheeky innuendo during her latest Christmas programme.

The popular TV chef travelled to Amsterdam in The Netherlands for her one-off BBC show aptly titled Nigella's Amsterdam Christmas. As the star wandered around the Dutch city gathering ingredients for an array of themed dishes, she prepared for one of her iconic December parties to host with friends.

As well as indulging in some festive drinks and telling viewers she was excited to try some "squidgy gingerbread" and "rich, boozy cream", the 63-year-old English food writer showed off some particularly impressive nut-crushing skills, reports OK! Magazine.

As she sprinkled some nuts inside a large see-through bag, Nigella, who previously went viral for mispronouncing the word microwave, declared: "And for this, I need my nut bashing bag." She noted: "Very useful," as she proceeded to smash the ingredient repeatedly on her counter.

Surrounded by fairy lights and festive decorations, the brunette beauty grinned as she looked up at the camera. With a twinkle in her eye, Nigella teased: "We all need an outlet at Christmas."

Flocking to X, formerly known as Twitter, it's safe to say viewers were amused by the scenes. "I need a nut bashing bag #nigella," one person laughed. Another fan joked: "#nigella nut bashing bag. Steady on pet."
